Public Lecture Title : On Jacobi's Triple Product Identity

Chan Heng Huat (曾衡发)
He graduated from National University of Singapore in 1991 with a B.Sc. in mathematics and obtained his PhD degree in mathematics under the supervision of B.C. Berndt in 1995. He was a member at the Institute for Advanced Study at Princeton for nine months before joining Chung Cheng University in 1996. In August 1997, he returned to Singapore and began working at National University of Singapore.
Abstract:
We introduce Jacobi's triple product identity, deriving it from a polynomial identity. We then give several applications of this amazing identity.
